Away from the hustle and bustle of the strip is a thriving Downtown Las Vegas neighborhood where design is at its core. The Arts District is a cultural hub where indie art galleries, theaters, restaurants and accommodations come to life through bold art initiatives and unique programming. Among them is The English Hotel, a vibrant boutique property that reflects the funky neighborhood through bold interior design and colorful murals.

“The English Hotel was conceived as a nongaming, boutique retreat that feels intimate and art-forward — deliberately scaled and styled to be an ‘escape from the Strip’ while celebrating the Arts District’s creative energy,” explained Anna Olin of ZLife Company, the company which developed the property. “Its built form is clean and contemporary, with interiors designed to feel stylish but approachable: comfortable suites, a secluded pool, and public spaces that read more like a neighborhood boutique than a large resort.

Opened in 2022, the property was conceptualized by celebrity chef Todd English and features 74 thoughtfully designed rooms that embody the bold spirit of the Arts District. The Arts District shaped the hotel’s positioning and tone: the building trades the excess of Strip resorts for a more locally rooted, creative sensibility. The hotel fronts the neighborhood with a lively street presence, including an outdoor terrace and public dining, while leaning into the Arts District’s walkable, gallery-and-cafe fabric — both in programming and aesthetic.
